All matter in our known universe vibrates at a particular frequency and because vibration can also be described as sound we could say that, intrinsically, everything is sound. Human beings have a very intricate ability to create. Our thoughts and feelings vibrate into our creative reality, and from this root the tree of our lives grow. We also have a very strong instinct to feel good, to seek pleasing vibrations. On a biological level, when we feel good, we are likely to be in good health and in a safe and nurturing environment. With the advent of technologies and processed foods, that correlation is no longer applicable to every situation. This is why Devi Manet and Sat Sukh have dedicated their lives to assisting, teaching and guiding others into healthier vibrations using healing plants from our Mother Earth – such as cacao and medicinal herbs and sound healing tools – such as gongs, singing bowls, flutes and the human voice.
Devi will lead us through a cacao & kundalini journey. Serving her Raw Bliss cacao which is made using ancient stone grinding methods to open the micro particles of the cacao for optimum absorption. The Mayan word for cacao translates as “heart blood” highlighting their knowing of cacao opening up the physical and spiritual heart. Theobromine is the active stimulant in cacao, acting as a cardiovascular dilator, increasing blood flow to the heart region. For best results, abstaining or lowering caffeine intake before the event would be of benefit. Ayurvedic herbs to enhance and balance will be added to the cacao elixir including ashwagandha, shilajit, and cayenne. Cacao is an activator so it will enliven and open our hearts to begin the ceremony.
As the cacao enters our physical bodies and begins to align our spirits, we will chant together to the Five Directions: East, South, West, North and Center. Chanting to each direction will bring us the wisdom of each direction, help us release the thinking mind and relax into the infinite potential of no-mind. The vibration of our voices together will attune our bodies, minds, and spirits with that of our home, the Earth and all her creatures, plants and particles. As we remember ourselves collectively and individually to shuniya – the zero point or no-mind – we come to the place of ultimate healing.
Sat Sukh will then guide a ceremonial journey into the curative, balancing, and uplifting world of medicinal herbs. The herbs will be prepared as water infusions, elixirs, and topical oil infusions for a health supporting sensory experience of relaxation, stimulation, and balancing. Meeting these generous plants in ritual uplifts both the plant and the one receiving its benefits. Together we will praise them and nourish our bodies. As the herbs rejoice within us and begin the dance of healing balance, Devi and Sat Sukh will take you on an inner and outer exploration of restorative sound. The vibrations of singing bowls, wood and bamboo flutes, mandolin, guitar, voice and gongs will coax the nervous system into deep release.
About the Facilitators:
Devi Manet is on a mission to share the healing modalities that have worked for her through direct experience. What began as a simple interest in bettering the quality of her life, led to in depth studies in plant based living food nutrition and detox, mystical world religions and practices, and expression through healing arts such as yoga and sound healing. Covering the whole body, mind, and spirit spectrum with great emphasis on preparing the body for the soul's evolution process has been the driving force in her work. Devi is a Kundalini Yoga instructor, sound healer, has a BA in eastern religious studies, and is a raw food chef and chocolatier.
Sat Sukh came into the world with a song in her heart. Her life is dedicated to the intricately related studies of sound, music, art, and yoga. Through these studies she continually reaches deep self-knowledge, heartfelt compassion for humanity, and grateful awe for the power of vibration. Sat Sukh spent most of her formative years in classic vocal techniques training and performance, studying with university professors of Vocal Music. Iyengar Yoga found her at 16, and she has devoted nearly 20 years of her life to daily practice and study of yogic arts. She is in a constant state of experiential understanding of the trifecta that is the sound current: Sphota – transcendental sound, Nāda – supersonic sound, and Dhvani – sound that is heard by the human ear. Sat Sukh shares mantra and sacred song with unbridled joy and appreciation. Her performances are a devotional practice in action. Her melodies and voice carry the sound current to invoke and awaken the divine qualities latent within the heart of humanity.
